Creating And Managing Tasks
Use production Tasks for general work, or a record's Tasks tab to keep a job associated with a character, location, element or other supported item.
Create A Production Task
- Open Tasks and select Create New Task.
- Enter the required Summary and Description.
- Set the required Task Completion Due and an optional Task Starts On.
- Choose Priority: No Priority Set, Low, Medium, High or Critical.
- Select Create Task.
- Open the task to assign it and maintain its progress.
Manage An Existing Task
- Open the task from the task list.
- Use Details to change Status, Priority, Start Date or Due Date; these controls submit changes as you change them.
- Where available, select a contact under Assigned and select Assign Contact.
- Use the edit control beside the task description for the fuller form, then Update Task.
- Add supporting information through Comments, Notes or Attachments.
Statuses are New, Pending, In Progress, Completed, On Hold, Blocked and Archived. An archived status is distinct from deleting the task.
Use Delete Task only when you want to remove the task, and confirm the prompt. A task linked to another item displays that item's area and name to give the work context.
Troubleshooting
The edit form also requires a summary, description and due date. Users who have not accepted production invitations do not appear in its assignment list. If controls are missing, check task access and action permissions. If you cannot view others' tasks, your list may be limited to your assigned work.
