Reviewing And Repairing Scene Details

Scene metadata supplies the location, interior/exterior and time information used in breakdowns and schedules. Review it after importing writing that uses unusual heading formats.

Update One Scene

  1. Open Script Breakdown and select the scene.
  2. Open Details.
  3. Review Number, Int/Ext, Time, Night/Day, Descriptor and Location.
  4. Make the necessary corrections.
  5. Select Update.

Revision information appears separately in this panel. Correcting scene metadata is not the same as editing the original writer document.

Repair Several Scenes

  1. From Script Breakdown, select Repair Script.
  2. Review the scene rows and edit their number, time, day/night, INT/EXT, descriptor or location.
  3. Choose New Location and enter a custom location name if the correct location is not listed.
  4. Select Repair to submit the changes.
  5. Return to Script Breakdown and inspect the affected scenes.

Attempt Auto-Repair

  1. On Repair Script, select Attempt Auto-Repair to interpret the headings again.
  2. Read the warning: this process may overwrite custom changes to scene properties.
  3. Select Yes, attempt auto repair! only if you intend to proceed, or cancel to keep the current details.
  4. Review the resulting scene rows and correct any remaining errors using Repair.

Use Back to Script Breakdown to return to the scenes. Manual repairs require Repair to save; leaving the form does not submit them. The Repair Script control requires breakdown repair permission.

Troubleshooting

If an imported scene has UNKNOWN day/night or NO LOCATION SET, correct those details before relying on colours, location grouping or schedule requirements.
