Managing Production Elements

Elements brings tagged requirements together across scenes. Use it to track preparation rather than treating every occurrence in the script as a separate item.

Find An Element

  1. Select Elements in the production navigation.
  2. Use By Type to browse categories or By Scene to browse scene requirements.
  3. Select Manage beside an element.
  4. Review the scenes in which it is tagged.

Update The Record

  1. In Element Details, check Element Type.
  2. Choose Status: New, In Progress, Completed, On Hold or Cancelled.
  3. Set Required By, Description, Detailed Summary and Quantity.
  4. Select Update Element.
  5. If a Specs tab is available for this category, complete its relevant fields and select Save Element Specifications.

Specification fields depend on the category. Complete the fields relevant to the item you are preparing rather than expecting every element type to have the same form.

Assign To A Character

Expand a scene's character list in the element record. Use Assign beside the character concerned, or Unassign to remove that link. This is useful for items such as wardrobe or props used by a particular character in a scene.

Keep Preparation Information Together

Use the available Concept Images, Notes, Chat, Attachments, Tasks and Activity tabs. These controls depend on access. Element Report, where available, produces a report for that element.

Remove on the element list is a production-wide record action. A tag's Remove action in breakdown is a scene reference action; choose carefully and read the confirmation.

Troubleshooting

If a required category has no elements, create its requirements by tagging them in breakdown. A specification tab is only shown for supported types and available access. A completed preparation status does not remove the item from its scenes.
