Using Comments, Notes And Item Tasks
Many production records provide common tools for comments, notes, files and tasks. Their actions depend on the permissions for the record's area.
Add A Note
- Open the record's Notes tab.
- Select Create New Note.
- Enter Summary and Note Content.
- Select Save Note.
- Open a saved note to read its author and date; use Close to return to the list.
Where removal is permitted, a note's delete control asks for confirmation. These production record notes are separate from the script writer's paragraph notes and multi-note scratch pad.
Use Comments
- Open Comments or the discussion/comment control beside the page title where shown.
- Read the existing conversation.
- Enter your comment in Your comment... and select Leave Comment.
- Check it appears before leaving the panel.
Add A Task Attached To An Item
- Open the record's Tasks tab.
- Select Create New Task.
- Enter Summary and Description, then set Task Starts On, Task Completion Due, Priority and Assigned To as appropriate.
- Select Create Task.
- Open the task to maintain progress and assignments.
An item task appears under its area in the production task list. It gives the assignee context about the record concerned.
Troubleshooting
Missing tools can reflect feature or action permissions. Removing a note does not remove the production record, and completing a task does not automatically complete every related element or budget entry. Use the item's own status field when that record needs updating.
