Creating And Opening Scripts

A script is the project containing your writing documents. Each document can hold a screenplay, draft, title page, treatment or outline.

Create A Script

  1. Select My Scripts, or open a production and select Scripts.
  2. Select New Script.
  3. Enter a script name and select Create New Script.
  4. The writer opens the new script so you can begin writing or import a document.

A script name is required. Creation must be available to your account; shared scripts can be readable even when creating your own scripts is unavailable.

Open Existing Work

Use Open beside a script. Scripts shared with me lists invited collaborations in the personal script list. Within the writer, Document Options → Open provides a searchable picker of other accessible scripts. Use Documents to switch within the current script.

Archive And Recover

Use Archive beside a script you can manage and confirm the prompt. Open the script list's Archive view to find archived scripts. Restore returns one to the current list; Delete Permanently removes it after confirmation.

Archiving a whole script is different from clearing or deleting a document in the writer.

Troubleshooting

If a shared script does not appear, confirm the invite was sent to your account's email address. A production script can also depend on your access to that production. Ask the owner to check sharing rather than creating a second copy of the project.
