Managing Production Permissions

Permissions decide which areas a collaborator can access and which actions they can perform within them. The roles and preset names available are those listed in your workspace.

Before You Begin

You need permission to manage users' permissions in the current production.

Change One User's Permissions

  1. Open Users and select Permissions beside the user.
  2. Review the grouped permission checkboxes.
  3. Enable or disable the actions appropriate to their work.
  4. Alternatively, choose a preset and select Apply From Preset, or choose another user and select Copy From User.

Apply All Permissions and Remove All Permissions change the whole permission set. Read any confirmation before applying them. Individual permission changes are submitted by the controls on this page; it does not provide a separate overall Save button.

Create A Reusable Preset

  1. Open Users → Permissions Presets.
  2. Enter a name in Preset name....
  3. Select Limit to this production if the preset should be production-specific.
  4. Select Create New Preset.
  5. Open the preset, set its permission checkboxes and select Save Preset.

The page separates Production Presets, My Presets and Platform Presets. Platform presets can be inspected and copied through Duplicate Preset; editable presets provide Save Preset and Delete Preset. Changing a preset is distinct from applying it to a user.

Troubleshooting

Area access and an action such as editing or deleting are separate permissions. A user's production permissions also do not replace a script owner's sharing permissions for an independently shared script.
