Planning With Coordination Timelines

Coordination provides separate planning scenarios with dated task bars. Use it to explore how preparation activities fit together and identify work that follows another activity.

Create A Scenario And Groups

  1. Select Coordination → Create New Coordination.
  2. Enter Scenario Name and select Create Scenario.
  3. Select Manage beside the scenario.
  4. Select New Group, enter the group name and confirm.
  5. Use the group's Task control to open Add Standalone Task.

Add Or Edit A Timeline Task

  1. Enter Task title and an optional Description.
  2. Set Timeline colour, Start date and Duration in days.
  3. Choose Status: To Do, In Progress, Review or Done.
  4. Under Assignees, select a crew member and use Add.
  5. Under Linked tasks, select existing preparation work and use Add if needed.
  6. Select Save task.

Use a task's Edit Task control to reopen its details. Its Add Dependent Task control creates a child task connected to it. A linked production task and a dependent timeline task serve different purposes: the former connects existing work, while the latter expresses a timeline relationship.

Organise And Remove Work

Drag task rows to organise them within or between groups; drag group handles to reorder groups. Use the timeline scale and Jump to Today control to find dates. Task bars can be moved and resized to adjust their dates and duration.

Delete Task asks for confirmation and offers Delete dependent (child) tasks as well. Deleting a group moves its items to the unassigned group, as explained in the group deletion prompt.

Troubleshooting

Coordination statuses differ from the production task statuses. Updating a timeline status should not be treated as a promise that every linked task changes with it. Check the related task directly when its progress matters.
