Adding Itemised Budget Costs

Itemised costs explain what makes up a budget entry. Each line uses an amount and quantity to calculate its total.

Add A Cost Line

  1. Open Budget, select Manage for the scenario and open the entry.
  2. In the cost-line table, choose Account if needed.
  3. Enter Description, Amount and Qty.
  4. Select Unit and whether the spend is Intl.
  5. Use the add control at the end of the entry row.
  6. Check the new line and its Total.

Description and numeric cost are required. Quantity starts at one. The cost total is amount multiplied by quantity.

Edit And Remove Costs

Use the line's edit icon to open the cost window. Change Account, Description, Cost, Quantity, Unit or International Spend?, then select Save changes. Select unwanted lines and use Remove Checked to remove them, reading its prompt first.

The entry shows a running Total and Remain compared with its allowance. Quantity changes can have a substantial effect on the total, so review it after editing.

Supporting Work

Use available Notes, Attachments, Tasks and Chat to keep quotes and preparation work with the budget record. Saving a quotation as an attachment is separate from entering its cost.

Troubleshooting

A label such as per day or per week describes the chosen unit; make the quantity reflect the number of units you intend to buy. Costs and expenses are separate records; check both when reconciling planned costs and actual spending.
