Sharing Scripts And Attaching Them To Productions
A script owner can share writing directly by email or attach the script to a production. Sharing a script is separate from granting access to the entire production.
Invite A Script Collaborator
- Open your script and select Share script.
- Under Invite by email, enter the person's address.
- Select Invite.
- Under Shared with, select their email address.
- Set the permission checkboxes and wait for Permissions saved.
Choose Access
| Permission | What It Enables |
|---|---|
| Can write | Change writing, subject to the document editing lock. |
| Can leave notes | Add feedback and use the document's scratch pad. |
| Can create documents | Create additional documents and revisions. |
| Can access mind maps, Can edit mind maps | Read or change maps. |
| Can access beat sheets, Can edit beat sheets | Read or change beat sheets. |
| Can access history | Use saved history and document comparison. |
| Can export | Use the available export tools. |
Changes are saved automatically. Select the person again if permission loading fails. Use the removal control beside their entry to remove direct sharing, reading the confirmation first.
Attach To A Production
- In the Documents panel, find Attached To Production.
- If the script is unattached and you own it, choose from Select a production....
- Select Attach To Production and review the access warning before confirming.
- To unlink an attached script, use Detach and confirm the warning that production-derived access will be lost.
Attachment makes the script available through the production's script access. It is not the same as importing the writing into Script Breakdown.
Troubleshooting
The share icon is shown to the script owner. A collaborator may read or leave notes while another person holds the writing lock; simultaneous permission to write does not mean simultaneous editing of the same document. If sharing controls fail to save, retry and check the saved permission state before relying on the change.
