What CinePlatform Contains

CinePlatform brings script development and production preparation into a shared workspace. You can write a screenplay before creating a production, or organise an existing screenplay with a production team.

The Main Areas

Area What You Can Do
My Scripts and production Scripts Write screenplays, keep documents and revisions, collect notes, build mind maps and beat sheets, and share writing.
Script Breakdown and Elements Import a screenplay, identify scene requirements and track the work needed to prepare them.
Shot List and Mood Boards Plan coverage and collect visual references. Storyboard images can accompany shots.
Cast, Crew, Contacts and Locations Connect characters and crew roles to people, and choose real sets for story locations.
Tasks, Coordination and Calendar Assign work, organise timelines and see dated production activity.
Scheduling and Call Sheets Arrange shooting days, plan people requirements and distribute daily instructions.
Budget and Expenses Plan itemised costs and record spending and payment status.
Files and Chat Keep production materials and conversations together.

Available areas depend on access granted to you and the features available for the production. Some controls are unavailable in a sandbox.

Follow A Production Workflow

  1. Create or accept an invitation to a production.
  2. Write or import the script you intend to prepare.
  3. Import it into Script Breakdown, review the detected scenes and tag requirements.
  4. Cast characters, fill crew roles and approve location sets.
  5. Plan shots and assign preparation tasks.
  6. Create a shooting schedule, arrange day breaks and check people requirements.
  7. Prepare, preview and distribute the day's call sheet.

This is a suggested order, not a requirement to complete every area. A small project can use only the tools it needs.

Two Kinds Of Script Work

The writer holds editable writing documents. Script Breakdown holds the production's imported scenes and requirements. Import a writer document into the breakdown when it is ready; the guide does not treat later writing changes as an automatic update to the production breakdown.
