Scheduling Cast And Crew And Reviewing Conflicts
Daily requirements connect the shooting order with the performers and crew needed on each date. Define day breaks before managing people by day.
Open Scheduling and the intended scenario's stripboard first. Assign performers to characters in Cast and people to roles in Crew so the daily requirements can show their contacts.
Set Cast Times
- On the stripboard, open People → Manage Cast.
- Select Manage for the shooting day.
- Review each character and performer contact.
- Enter Call Time, HMU, Wardrobe, Set, Est. Wrap Time and Notes as appropriate.
- Select Update Cast For Day for that day.
Characters are drawn from the day's scene requirements. Fill missing performer assignments in Cast.
Select Crew And Calls
- Open People → Manage Crew.
- Select Manage for the day.
- Tick the required crew roles, using Check All or Uncheck All when useful.
- Enter Start Time, Est. Wrap Time and Notes.
- Select Update Crew For Day.
To reuse a day's crew, choose the appropriate Copy Crew From Day option and select Copy, then review the resulting selection and times. Crew role assignment and selecting a role for the day are separate steps.
Review Problems
Select PROBLEMS DETECTED on a day break when shown. Schedule conflicts lists Cast and Crew issues such as Contact needed or Unavailable this day.
For a missing contact, assign a performer in Cast or a person to the Crew role. For an availability issue, review the recorded dates and confirm with the person before changing the plan. Return with Back to stripboard and inspect the updated requirements.
Troubleshooting
An empty crew call sheet can mean roles were never selected for that day. Creating crew roles alone is insufficient. Availability information is a guide; the absence of a warning is not a confirmation that a person has accepted their call.
