Notes And Editing Tools
Use paragraph notes for specific feedback and the Notepad for broader ideas belonging to the current document. Note access is independent of permission to change the screenplay.
Add A Paragraph Note
- Hover over or focus the paragraph and select its comment icon.
- In Notes, select Add Note.
- Choose General, Performance, Visual, Audio or Continuity.
- Write the note and select Save note.
- Use its completion control when the feedback is resolved.
Notes show authors and update information. Your own notes provide edit and delete controls; deletion asks for confirmation. A note marker helps you find paragraphs with feedback.
Keep Multiple Scratch-Pad Notes
- Select Notepad to open Scratch pad.
- Select New note.
- Enter Note heading and write the body.
- Use Bold, Italic, Underline, Numbered list or Bulleted list for formatting.
- Select notes in the sidebar to switch between them.
- Drag their handles to reorder, or use Move note up and Move note down.
The scratch pad saves automatically and shows its own save status. Use Retry save if saving fails. Earlier single scratch-pad content is retained as the first note.
Delete note opens a confirmation window. Confirm the deletion only for the intended note. Undo delete can restore the most recently deleted note while the page remains open.
Find And Replace
- Select Find/Replace.
- Enter Find text and select Find.
- Use Previous Match and Next Match to step through results.
- Choose Match case if needed.
- Enter Replace with text and select Replace or Replace All.
Finding can be used when reading; replacement requires writing access.
Rename A Character In Writing
Use Document Options → Rename Character, choose Select Character, enter New Name and select Rename Globally. This changes character cues and references in Action paragraphs in the current document. Names inside Dialogue remain unchanged, so review those separately. Character extensions are retained.
Troubleshooting
Scratch-pad saving is separate from screenplay saving. Check its own status before leaving. If you can read a shared script but cannot add notes, ask the owner to check Can leave notes.
