Managing Story Locations
A story location represents a place in the screenplay, such as an office or kitchen. It records the scene's filming requirements and logistics, while location sets record the possible real-world filming places.
Review The Locations List
Open Locations in the production. The list shows whether each location appears in scenes and whether it has an Approved Set. No Approved Set means a filming choice has not yet been approved.
Update Location Details
- Select Manage beside the location.
- In Details, update its name, description, requirements and logistics.
- Set Requires Construction to Yes or No.
- Select Update to save.
Use Add Location Option to create or assign a real filming option. A location can have several candidates, with one approved choice.
Collect Preparation Information
Use the available Concept Images, Notes, Chat, Attachments, Tasks and Activity areas to coordinate location preparation. Which tabs and actions are available depends on production access and your permissions.
Remove A Location
Use Delete Location on its management page or Remove Selected on the locations list. CinePlatform asks for confirmation before deleting records. Check related scene and set assignments before confirming.
Troubleshooting
Creating a story location does not automatically assign it to every scene. Review scene metadata and breakdown matching if a location is missing from scenes. A location may have several assigned sets and still have no approved filming choice.
