Managing Documents And Title Pages
Each script can contain several documents with independent writing and associated planning tools. Opening a document and making it the script's Active document are separate actions.
Create And Open A Document
- Select Document Options → Add document.
- Enter Document Name.
- Choose Document Type: Script, Title Page, Treatment or Outline.
- Select Create.
- Switch documents through the right document list or Document Options → Documents.
Use a Script for screenplay paragraphs. The other types use General writing. Creation requires Can create documents when you are a shared collaborator.
Rename And Organise Drafts
Edit Current Script or Current Document in the Documents panel to rename it. The names save after a pause. Use Document Options → Make Active to choose the document opened by the script's main writer address.
Use Duplicate to make a named copy before trying an alternative. Clear removes the current document's writing while keeping the document; Delete removes the document. Read and confirm the prompts before either destructive action.
Set Title-Page Information
- Select Document Options → Title Page.
- Complete Title, Written By, Contact Info, Revision and Revision Date as appropriate.
- Select Save Details.
- Check the exported output when preparing the screenplay for sharing.
The title-page details tool and a document whose type is Title Page are separate choices. Use the PDF document selection to decide which writing documents appear in a combined export.
Troubleshooting
Switching to a draft does not make it active. If the wrong draft opens from the script list, open the intended document and use Make Active. If names appear unchanged after editing, wait for their save to complete before navigating away.
