Editing Scene Scheduling Details

Edit Scene Details keeps schedule information with a strip. Imported script details are shown for reference; manual scene strips allow their own scene details to be entered.

Edit A Strip

  1. Select Edit Scene Details on the strip.
  2. Review Scene details.
  3. For a manual scene, complete Scene number, INT / EXT, Scene location, Time of day and Scene description.
  4. Add Schedule notes.
  5. Set Preparation and Estimated shoot hours and minutes under Timings.
  6. Select relevant Scene options.
  7. For a manual scene, select Characters and add notes under the coloured Elements & requirements categories.
  8. Select Save changes.

For split strips, the editor also offers Suffix and Split notes. Imported scene fields are read-only here; change their source metadata in Script Breakdown when required.

Understand Timing Overrides

Preparation and estimated-shoot values override assigned shot timings. Set both to zero to use the assigned shots' timings. Minutes must be between 0 and 59. Check the live total before saving so a short preparation period is not mistaken for hours.

Inspect The Scene Breakdown

Select Scene Breakdown on a strip to open its side panel. Review scene details, cast, location, elements, schedule notes, shots and storyboard information available for that strip. Expand categories and use View element when you need the full requirement record. Close the panel when finished.

Manage Shots opens the strip's shot management. Schedule → Assign Shots to Stripboard associates shots with the board after a confirmation; check assignments and timing results afterwards.

Troubleshooting

Use Save changes; these modal edits are not saved simply by closing the window. The editor warns about unsaved changes when you cancel. If saving fails, keep the entered information and retry. Manual element-category notes describe strip requirements; they are not the same as tagged element records in the screenplay breakdown.
