What is an equipment checklist?
An equipment checklist lists every piece of kit your production needs, including cameras, lenses, lighting, grip, sound equipment, batteries, media cards and accessories. It is used to prepare, pack, check out and return gear.
Why do I need an equipment checklist?
Forgetting a key item on shoot day can cost you time and money. A checklist helps you confirm that everything is booked, packed and working before you leave, and that nothing goes missing at wrap. It is especially useful for hired kit, where you must account for every item you return.
What should it include?
List each item, quantity, owner or supplier, condition, serial number where relevant, and tick boxes for packed, on set and returned. Group items by department to make checking quicker.
