What is a daily production report?
A daily production report, often called a DPR, is a summary of what happened on a shoot day. It records call and wrap times, scenes completed, pages shot, meal breaks, delays, incidents and notes for the next day.
Why do I need a daily production report?
The report gives producers, financiers and insurers an accurate picture of progress against the schedule and budget. It helps you spot patterns, such as scenes that regularly overrun, and creates a written record if anything needs to be reviewed later. For larger productions it is often a requirement.
What should it include?
Include the shoot day and date, call and wrap times, scenes scheduled and completed, pages and set-ups achieved, cast and crew attendance, overtime, accidents or incidents, equipment issues and notes for tomorrow.
